General Info
The Artnook is nestled within the Odd Shop in Downtown Visalia. The studio is both the professional workshop of artist Stevi Daniels and classroom for up to 8 students at a time. Stevi leads each 90-minute class, held weekly with breaks as indicated on the calendar.
Students of all levels, age 7 to adult, have freedom to choose their preferred genre, style, and content as well as materials. Stevi provides individualized instruction and guidance through new techniques, materials, and concepts as students progress.

Getting Started
Students must be age 7 or older to attend the Artnook. Parents enroll their children and adults can enroll themselves by filling out the enrollment form. On the form, check all times that fit your schedule. Stevi will contact you within a day or two to coordinate. Everyone must agree to the studio policy before attending. Here are some important highlights from the policy:
-
Late-notice cancellations and no-shows cannot be made up. Make-up lessons are allowed in the event of sickness or tragedy if Stevi is notified on the day of the absence, or for any reason as long as Stevi is notified 24 hours before the absence.
-
Commitment is month-to-month. Paying tuition by the 26th secures your spot for the following month. First-time clients are required to pay tuition at least three days before their first lesson. No lessons will be held without payment.
Tuition & Materials
All classes include materials at no additional cost.
Fall & Spring Classes
Tuition is billed monthly. Payment is due on the 26th before the new month. First-time clients are required to pay tuition at least three days before their first lesson. A $10 late tuition fee applies when returning clients miss the tuition due date.
Classes occur weekly except when there's a break indicated by the calendar. Tuition follows the fixed schedule shown here and does not fluctuate. Monday and Saturday attendees will pay the Monday/Saturday rate because fewer lessons are offered on these days.
Summer Classes
In June and July, summer classes are flexible. Fewer classes are offered during these months at Stevi's discretion. You choose which classes to attend and pay per lesson or purchase a bundle instead of a monthly commitment.

What We'll Learn
Each class begins with the Artist Circle, a brief group lesson exploring art history, careers, analysis, or engaging in art games.
After that, students work on their individual projects which may involve:
-
2D art (drawing, painting, printmaking)
-
3D art (polymer clay, assemblage)
-
textiles (weaving, sewing, knitting, macramé)
-
digital (graphic design, animation).
The genre, style, and content of student art are ultimately determined by what interests each individual. Students will be appropriately challenged with new ideas and techniques as they progress. All students learn about:
-
art elements & principles
-
artistic techniques
-
proper use of materials
-
art history
-
developing creative concepts
-
how to analyze art
