Stevi's Story

Growing up in Visalia, my parents enrolled me in a studio much like the Artnook. These lessons gave me a meaningful outlet as a kid and influenced the course of my career.

I earned my degree in Studio Art at Biola University, with a focus in portraiture. Afterwards, I lived in Honduras for three years teaching Elementary Art.

I returned to Visalia to work at the Creative Center, an art center for adults with developmental disabilities. As Visual Arts Instructor, I was proud to see my students create amazing things under my instruction. I also managed the gallery and came to love the arts community in Visalia.

After 5 years of teaching art, I decided to pursue what I love by opening the Artnook in January of 2020.

Stevi's Art

My work is predominantly two-dimensional.

I specialize in portraits and other commissioned painting projects, such as murals and still lifes. Anyone interested in a commission may contact me through the Artnook.

My work tends to be surreal. I combine realistic images into an "otherworldly" collage. My work commonly includes themes such as human figures, animals, and elements from my personal experiences.
